Awarded DARPA Young Faculty Award

I'm excited to announce that I've been recently awarded a DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) under the mentorship of Dr. Lok Yan. More details are available on the Ohio State College of Engineering website, to summarize:

Carter Yagemann, who joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in 2022, was awarded for his proposal "End-to-End Modeling and Mitigation of Fault Injection Attacks." Fault injection attacks allow an adversary to control hardware by introducing faults into the system. Attacker-induced faults can bypass security protections to bring the system under the attacker’s control or leak sensitive information to the attacker. Breakthroughs in systematically modeling the fundamental properties and requirements for fault injection attacks will enable defenders to protect diverse systems from all maliciously induced faults, thereby ensuring security protections remain intact, even in the presence of a powerful adversary with direct physical access.
